Product Story
My inspiration for this classic pattern came from memories of English porcelain plates displayed on the walls in my mother’s antique shop. These images laid dormant until a trip to Charlotte NC triggered my creative energies, bringing this piece to life.
Two years ago, I was visiting factories in the South looking for products that I could make here in America. In between factory tours, I wandered over to the Mint Museum in Eastover. The Mint is known for their extensive collection of ceramics and decorative arts. I strolled through the collection with no aim in mind. And standing in front of the cases of beautiful bone china I was transported back to my mothers store. It hit me! I needed to create a pattern inspired by these great works of art.
When I returned home, I hauled out all the china plates and dinnerware I owned and began designing. It took two years to get right, but I am thrilled with this print.
